eHarmony knowingly engages in deceptive business practices. They match active, paying subscribers with inactive individuals. What this means is that by using the service's communication features, you may be contacting an individual that has not used, or visited, the site in months, and WILL NOT be able to receive your communication -- eHarmony makes no attempt to alert the customer to this during the communication stage.. This is highly deceptive because it leads the customer to believe they have more matches that they can communicate with than are actually available. There is currently no way to identify active vs. inactive members. I spoke with eHarmony customer support and they verified that this is how the service works and they made no attempt to explain the practice.
