IF you think you wanna use this company DO NOT DO IT!!! We used them October, 2010!
Unless you want to be told one price as a quote, only to have it changed on moving day, because the person on the phone half heard your requirements, told you what would be done; "our guys will blanket wrap and protect all your furniture, and if you have the original boxes that is even better - we won't charge you for boxes". On moving day we called the receptionist who now had amnesia and couldn't remember the specifics of our conversation, her answers to my questions and the fact that I told her we had "glass" top tables (Even though she said "If you want to bubble wrap them that would be fine, but they will make sure they are protected and will wrap them in blankets". You might think they are the professionals and are giving you accurate information to support the quote; DON'T BUY IT!!!
If you want:
- Stress and aggravation, changed dates and times at the last minute
- To incur additional costs because of their unprofessional-ism and lack
of Customer Service (especially after you sign their contract)
- Things left behind because you can't get them protected without paying
extra charges for "them" to do it; because you were mislead over the
phone.
- To be spoken to as though you are crazy, especially after they have
1/2 your money.
- To be charged a cancellation fee of $250, when they show up and very
little is as explained in your telephone conversation and the answers
they gave you initially (to your concerns that) turn out not to be
reality.
- To be quoted $200-300 less than the bill on pick-up day.
- To not be allowed to inspect your goods before the driver takes off on
the delivery date. They want you to pay them before you even see your
belongs, and they don't even wait to see if everything is okay! Once
you pay that driver, he takes OFF!!!
After our horrendous experience with this company, I would RUN FROM THEM. If they were the last movers on earth, I would DO IT MYSELF before I would be "baited and switched", swindled, and hoodwinked by the likes of these people, I don't know how they live with themselves.
I personally checked several references they gave me but I would not be surprised if they paid these people to give good references. I kid you not, I informed them that I would send a review on-line and let people know how they really operate; I guess they didn't believe me!!!
RUN FROM UNIQUE VAN LINES = DON'T DO IT!!! DON'T USE THEM, find someone else!!! I give them a -10 rating but this system won't indicate it!!!
