I paid the Scovis Law Group through Michael McDevit $10,550.00 to do 3 of my property's loan mods, each with a first and a 2nd loan each. He said that they would not do the loan mods without being paid upfront. My mother was dying of cancer also at this time and so I paid him, with assurances he would handle all my loan mods personally, and give me a full refund if they were not able to complete them, they submitted one after getting denied because of conflicting financial info. from a short sale on another property with the same lender i had to do, but that was in the end of July 2010. Then they never followed up with it since September 2010, and promised to give me a copy of finacials which they never did in October of 2010. I submitted all financials and financial analysis to Scovis Law Group, only to find out that they had not submitted them to the banks or done anything since third quarter of 2010, telling me they would take care of them for me, and never did, and changed their company asking me to sign a new authorization Dec, 28th under Audit-processing Center Company 2010. My other property was pending a sale date 30 days out, as soon as i asked for my money back on any of these the Scovis Law Group dropped me like a hot potatoe, Michael McDevit saying he DID NOT handle my files anymore after i complained to him asking for my money back, on one I told them in the beginning I decided to short sell instead before they submitted it for a loan mod with my previous listing agent, and the other I had to do myself because they never helped me at all or submitted anything according to the mortgage co., having not heard from them since the previous spring of 2010, or fall for the other one, and I am now working on the last thrid loan mod myself. I also referred my broker to them and he paid them $2500.00 but after I told him how they ripped me off, and would not refund any money to me as promised and did not do my loan mods as promised either, he decided to not pay them any more money and has lost his $2500.00 to them as well. They are taking advantage of distressed home owners with false promises and no work being done to help them, taking only payments in full upfront which is against the law as well. They have an F rating with the BBB and are trying to collect full payments upfront for no work being done as well as false promises of refunds if they do not complete or get the loan mods completed. They are very dishonest and untrust worthy. Do not let them scam you.
