Homeowner for 30 Years
Until yesterday, I was the owner of a property located at 6264 Sunnycrest Drive, Oak Park. I have owned this property for approximately 30 years. During that period of time, I spent several years on-and-off the HOA Board. As a result, I have seen management companies come-and-go. I am writing this email to acknowledge the absolutely amazing work and support provided us by your Ross Morgan Property Managers, Michelle Atkinson and Tony Barbaratto. I have served as both president and vice-president and have found Michelle and Tony exceptionally professional to work with. They have been hands-on in all aspects of issues affecting the HOA. The service they have provided has always gone above and beyond what others have provided us. Michelle has had an amazing ability to handle all our day-to-day issues with efficiency, an ability to properly manage, exceptional follow-thru, and a gracious ability to deal with various, sometimes difficult, personalities. We have had “major” issues affecting our HOA.....a few years ago, as a result of previous HOA management and Board neglect, we were put into a position of having to have a great deal of community property rehab/updating performed....the property had to have plaster work, new paint, roof repairs, etc. Most recently, within the last two years, we had to have major re-piping and sewer work completed. Michelle and Tony were instrumental, not only in helping us find excellent venders, and fair pricing, but often could be found on-site to see that work was efficiently completed. There were times when I would notice that they would stop-by to inspect our property on their way home from work....on their “own” time! They REALLY cared!!! In addition, our HOA had to take-out loans to pay for the loan at approximately $150,000 and another at approximately $250,000. Obtaining these loans was a difficult task for an HOA without large reserves. Tony found our lender for both projects...and, trust me when I could not have been easy. He and Michelle worked hand-in-hand to provide all info necessary for us to obtain these loans and “pushed hard” on the lenders to fund the loans. I cannot imagine any other property managers that could/would have cared for our property any better than Michelle and Tony have. And, I don’t know what we would do without Michelle’s day-to-day assistance. She is amazing! Not only does she provide us fabulous day-to-day service, but she cares about how our money is spent and has provided us with great advice in helping us to keep our expenses in-line. For several years, I was the vice-president of an entertainment business management firm. I handled an array of real estate and property issues for my entertainment clients. In all the years I spent in my profession, I had not come across such efficient and caring property managers. I am writing this because I feel I would be remiss by not sharing this information with you. Too often, managers hear only complaints...I would like you to know, having worked with Michelle and Tony for several years, I have a tremendous amount of respect for them and their work, and, I feel a great deal of gratitude for all that they have done and are continuing to do for our HOA. I can only hope that the management company, used by my new community, is “half” as efficient as what I have experienced with Michelle and Tony.
