This company solicted the 501(c)3 Nonprofit horse rescue, Heart's Desire Equine Rescue, Inc.,that I represent as Director, by e-mail, to attend a Fundraising Conference at a fee of $165 for a one day session, at a hotel in Carlotte NC. I registered, mailed my check, and the check was cashed,40 days in advance of the conference. I contacted the hotel to make reservations for the conference and was told that no such conference was being held at their hotel, nor was it ever held there. I contacted Serge Butman, owner of this company, and was promised a full refund and offered to attend the conference as his guest, as he assured me that the hotel had given me false information and he assured me that the conference was being held there. Our rescue has never received the promised refund and the conference was not held on that date, or in that hotel as advertised. It has now been over 3 months since my check was cashed and the promised refund has never been received by our organization.As a nonprofit whose only funding is through donations, this has been a hardship for the horses depending on these funds to feed them.
