$1 Credit Score is a complete scam.
|
Experian claims to offer a credit score and report for $1.
They do at least make it clear that when you put in your credit card info they are going to charge you $1 now and $17.95 in 7 days and every 30 days forever if you don't cancel.
No big deal. Just cancel if you don't want their monthly service. Whatever the heck that service is.
But they do claim that you can cancel at 'any time'.
This is not true. They will not let you cancel online. Typical of a scam website. They want you to forget you signed up. You can only cancel by phone. And only when they are open. This is very different from 'any time'.
Also in addition to the $1 charge, they also charge $31.95 to actually VIEW the credit score. This is not stated anywhere. At all. Not on the button to view the report. Not in the Terms of Service. Not in microscopic small print. They don't tell you they are going to charge you to view the credit report.
They specifically tell you the $1 is to view the credit report and score. I cannot emphasize this enough.
Scammers: Trick you into paying more than you wanted.
Theives: Take your money without permission.
This makes Experian thieves. It's not even a scam. It's theft. They take 30 times more money than they claim they are going to take.
On the plus side: They do actually provide the credit report and score.
