I purchased a Breville tea kettle - Model SK500XL in June 2007. After about 4 months, the light on the kettle started flashing and went out while the kettle was boiling, then a few days later, the light failed all together. I tried to contact Breville USA, and after many attempts through e-mail and phone via their website, did get a reply and eventually got the kettle replaced.
Now the second kettle has the same issue, and is still under the 12 month warranty. Despite many attempts via e-mail and phone over the past few weeks, I have not been able to get any response from them - the e-mails to their customert service are ignored, and the phone calls immediately go to a recorded message saying "due to heavy call volume, please leave your name and number and will will get back to you". I have left one message a week for the past 4 weeks and have not received any call back.
Bottom line - a great looking product, very poor quality, and no customer service/warranty.
