They worked hard to get get our original loan approved, but the free rate floatdown they promised (within 12 months of original loan) is not free because they said that program was no longer available (even though it was still within the 12 month window from the original loan). When push came to shove, they agreed to do most of it for free, but required another appraisal that they refused to pay for. They also put us off by stating that the loan approval criteria had changed and were not helpful at all from that point on. I got the impression that their reps are told to just make the floatdown process so difficult that people would get tired of the fight and give up.
We went elsewhere and had no problem. They won, but also earned this review. BTW, our credit score is 780, no black credit marks or any other logical reason for denial...except that there was no extra money to be made.
