Took my son to this school after they called soliciting at my home. My son was taking private guitar lessons that were getting out of our budget, the school told us that there would be an evaluation period where the classes would be $19.95, after that if we bought an instrument from the school, then the price would remain the same, if not it would go up to $29.95. Simple enough we thought, my son has a kids acoustic guitar and we were thinking of getting him an electric guitar for Christmas. Well, after the evaluation period passes you get to meet the owner, a man who goes by Mr. Ray. He tries to push an electric guitar for $1200.00! Mind you, our son is 7 years old, we were not planning to spend that kind of money on a 7 year old who is just starting out. Mr. Ray makes you feel stupid if you do not buy his guitar, he does some crazy math and says the guitar will actually be free because your lessons will be less money than if you don't buy the guitar. Huh??? But we will still have to PAY for the guitar upfront. We did not decide right away and told him we would get back to him. After doing some research I find out the the Palmer guitar he is trying to sell us is worth no more than a couple of hundred bucks! When I called him the next day he was downright rude to me, I told him we had not made a decision but would like to continue with the classes for my son, he told me that if he did not have an electric guitar, then he could not take classes there anymore. This was never explained to us when we signed up for the classes. The worst part is that they show the instrument to the kids before the parents are told the price, he get the kids on his side, this is scary. Stay away from this place, a music store I went to told me that they get complaints from people who got sold overpriced instruments from ASM all the time.
